Knorr
Group's skilled professionals produce only the highest
quality, most durable products of steel buildings,
metal buildings, storage facilities and other building
accessories at the best prices in the industry. Our
engineered permit and construction building prints
are stamped and sealed in-house to meet state, county
and local building codes throughout the country and
internationally. For more information on any steel
metal buildings or any other building types that we
currently manufacture contact us today.
We
go the extra mile for our customers with services
like permit and construction drawings created and
stamped by a structural engineer and should meet or
exceed your county requirements with the purchase
of a building. In the production of our buildings
we use only the highest quality galvanized steel welded
into extra sturdy columns or roll formed into studs,
joists and rafters. We are very proud of the fact
that our buildings are American made with American
resources.
Our
buildings are perfect for a wide range of uses. We
manufacture all types of buildings from a small backyard
shop to the largest of manufacturing facilities. If
you can envision the building we can build it (in
most cases).
Here
at Knorr Group we take pride in our custom buildings.
Each building is custom designed by our team of engineers
to withstand the stresses of the environment, as well
as large bi-fold doors, and expansive clear-span requirements.
Our airplane hangars are the perfect shelter built
to protect your investment for a lifetime. Don't cover
your plane with a tarp when you can cover it with
steel.
Couldn't
everyone use a little more storage? Well, we can help!
From the smallest backyard shed, to the largest shipping
depositories, we manufacture the structure right for
you. If you are thinking of making storage your business,
we have an entire department dedicated to design and
manufacturing mini-storage buildings.

Steel
Buildings
Why
should I build with steel instead of wood?
The reasons you should build with steel instead of
wood are innumerable. Steel construction generally
costs much less than building with wood, and building
times are significantly reduced as well. Steel buildings
are incredibly strong and can withstand almost anything
mother nature dishes out year after year. Unlike wood
buildings, insects cannot chew through or diminish
the quality of steel buildings. Additionally, steel
is not a combustible material so your insurance costs
should be much lower.
How
does the price of a steel building compare with others?
Traditional construction materials are notoriously
unstable in pricing and flexibility. However, steel
has remained at a near constant for many years and
will for many years to come. In almost every case
you will save when you decide to build with steel.
Is
everything I need to construct my building included?
Everything you need to construct your building will
be included with the exception of the concrete needed
to secure the posts.
What
is a bay?
In simple terms a bay is the space between 2 frames.
For example, if you have 2 end frames and one supporting
frame, the space between would create 2 bays.
How
do I assemble my building?
Building assembly couldn't be easier. Knorr Group
Inc. provides you with all of the necessary information
to erect your building quickly and efficiently. Many
of our clients choose to erect their buildings on
their own, however, a professional contractor can
also be hired at an affordable cost to bring your
building to life. We can arrange this service for
you.
How
much is my building going to weigh?
The weight of your building is going to vary depending
on your location, size, and load requirements. If
you're concerned about unloading the building when
it arrives, we'll let you know what you need to be
prepared. Special accommodations can be made to meet
unloading/weight issues.

Building
Permits and Codes
Do
I need a building permit to build my building?
You will almost always need a building permit. A few
select cases will not require a permit to build but
you should ALWAYS check with your
local building inspector before purchasing a building.
When
I call my building inspector what should I tell them?
When you get in touch with your building inspector
let him know what it is you're trying to do with your
building.
What
do I do if I need permit drawings?
We can supply the permit drawings to you after you
have committed to buy a building from us.
What
about building codes and loads?
Every building that Knorr Group Inc. ships is engineeed
to comply with all written conditions request by customer.

Foundations
Do
I need a foundation for my building?
Most of our clients choose to pour a full slab foundation,
however, if you're planning on leaving the floor in
a dirt or gravel condition concrete piers will do
the job just fine.
How
thick should my slab be?
Again this information will have to be determined
by your local engineer. Most slabs will be around
4-8 inches thick depending on your climate.

Building
Delivery/Shipment
How
long does it take to get my building?
It usually takes between 6-8 weeks for your building
to arrive after the order has been placed. Delivery
times can be delayed if your estimated building date
is beyond the normal delivery schedules.
How
do I unload my building?
In most cases you'll need some heavy equipment (forklift)
and a few friends to get the job done. Everything
will arrive at once so be sure to have your location
prepped for material. After unloading your building
be sure to do an inventory of ALL of your items, and
let us know immediately if anything is missing. The
amount of time to report missing items is limited
due to job site theft.
What
if I’m not ready to put the building up when
it gets there?
Your materials can be stored. Be sure to look over
the information included to properly care for your
wall and roof sheets.
What
will freight cost?
Your costs will vary depending on your distance from
one of our distribution points and the weight of your
building.

Erectors
What
if I have questions during the erection of my building?
We're here to help. The building estimator assigned
to you will always be available for your questions.
Do
I need a professional erector to put up my building?
A good majority of our clients choose to erect the
buildings themselves. We design every building to
be erected easily and without the aid of professional
help. If you do not feel comfortable erecting your
own building, a local contractor can do the job for
you at a relatively low cost. We can arrange this
service for you.
How
long does it take to erect a building?
The time it takes to erect your building will depend
on the size of the building, the size of your crew,
and the skill of the workers in your crew. It can
take as little as a few days.

Payment
Information
How
do I pay for my building?
Your building will require 2 separate payments, the
first is an engineering deposit (20% of your building
cost) payable by check. The second is due upon building
delivery and it must be paid with a bank cashier's
check. Your load will not be released until payment
is made.
What
if I want to make changes to my order?
If you have looked over our section you know this
is one of the many areas we will be able to better
service you than other suppliers. Since you will be
working directly with a building estimator, any changes
you may need to make can be made with a phone call.
However, since you will be working with a professional,
the chances of you needing to change your order are
less likely than they are when you're working with
other firms.
